Post Weld Heat Treatment
Pre and Post-weld heat treatment may be required during production welding and is most generally used for stress relief with the overall aim of removing internal or residual stresses that may have been generated during welding. Stress relieving generally aids in the removal of or reduction of the risk of brittle fracture after welding as well as stress corrosion, among other metallurgical problems associated with welding at high temperatures.
